We start by driving in our modified super trucks along the south shore, heading for one of the places that Icelanders appreciate most,Þórsmörk (The Woods of Thor). From Þórsmörk, it is possible to view the volcano that recently erupted in Eyjafjallajökull glacier.
Our first stop is at the Icelandic horse visitor centre that offers something for everyone, whether you want to meet the Icelandic horses close up, enjoy the exhibition about the horses throughout history, or simply want to enjoy a cup of coffee in the cafe.
On the way, we make a stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall to walk behind the waterfall and at a small glacial lagoon. Many glacial rivers have to be crossed on the way to Þórsmörk, which is situated in a valley south of Iceland, surrounded by three glaciers and mountains,
which create favourable growing condition for the over 170 plant species you can find in the area.
Many walking paths are marked in Þórsmörk, making it an ideal place for short hikes with views of glaciers, woodlands and other colourful landscapes.
Operation, choice of roads and availability of activities are dependent on weather and road conditions.
